New York State is divided into four AA areas outside of New York City. Area 47 covers Central New York including Syracuse and Utica. Area 48, the Northeastern New York area covering the Hudson Mohawk Berkshire region, serves Albany and the Capital District. Area 49, Southeastern New York, coordinates groups in the Hudson Valley, Westchester, and the Lower Hudson region. Area 50 covers Western New York including Buffalo, Niagara Falls, and the Southern Tier. Rochester maintains its own dedicated Rochester Area Intergroup at rochesteraa.org, serving Monroe and surrounding counties. Notable groups across upstate New York include the Sunrise Sobriety Group in Syracuse meeting at 7:00 AM at 135 Walter Drive, the Mon-Day At A Time Group in Tully at 8:00 AM, the Saturday Morning After Group in the Hudson Valley meeting at Christ the King Episcopal Church, and the Women's Meeting in Oswego at 264 W 2nd St which includes a Step meeting format with open discussion.
